In 1949 they acquired the four-year-old Vancouver branch of an American-based company. From this modest beginning, the Company now has a Head Office in Burnaby, Nineteen Branches and Four Distribution Centers. The Opportunity:
Scope of the position
Reporting to the Manager of FP&A, the Financial Analyst role calls for an experienced and organized professional with analytical skills who will be responsible for various finance areas such as planning, controlling, forecasting, reporting, and measuring accounting data, financial information, and assets of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecast.
• Creates and maintains detailed planning templates used in budgeting and forecasting.
• Develops models to measure and perform analysis of financial results against budget and forecasts.
• Prepares financial operating results for monthly reporting which includes analysis and identifying key trends, variances, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Provides analytics on the assigned region that supports strategic planning and decision making.
• Creates, modifies, and ensures the data integrity of various monthly management reports for the operations/branch managers, head office department managers and the accounting department.
• Assists in developing and implementing KPIs dashboards.
• Performs complex financial analysis including conducting market analysis and benchmarking.
• Performs testing of RSL's internal control procedures and reports to the Manager of FP&A.
• Assists the accounting function with completion of year-end and other audits.
• Supports Manager of FP&A with special projects and process improvements.
• Performs other ad hoc duties as required.
• Utilizes existing ERP systems, general ledger and reporting tools for use in role.

Skills and Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in business administration or finance or accounting or a related discipline.
• CPA candidate, minimum entering or enrolled in PEP program.
• 3+ years of financial planning and analysis experience and/or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and database.
• Experienced with Microsoft 365 Office including advanced proficiency with Excel spreadsheets.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strategic planning experience are an asset.
• Self-motivated individual with a high degree of initiative.
• A team player, must be able to communicate effectively and build tactful relationship with other departments within the organization.
• A self-starter, flexible, with the ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.

What we offer:

The target salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 CAD. The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate's relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data.
