Overview:
The Air Compressor Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair compressors
and related equipment. This includes working with air compressors, gas compressors,
HVAC, and refrigeration systems. The role requires strong mechanical expertise, particularly
in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and may involve 24-hour emergency support
on a rotating schedule.Key Responsibilities
Installation & Assembly: Set up compressors, HVAC systems, and other
components using hand and power tools.
System Setup & Testing: Conduct diagnostics to ensure systems are leak-free and
operational.
Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance, repair faulty components, and
overhaul systems when necessary.
System Calibration & Documentation: Test, calibrate, and keep maintenance
records.
Safety Compliance: Follow regulatory and company safety guidelines.
Collaboration: Work with engineering and operations teams to optimize
performance.
Customer Support: Provide troubleshooting support for customers.Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2 years working with compressors, refrigeration, or
mechanical systems. A journeyman or third-level apprentice in refrigeration/air
conditioning is preferred.
Skills: Proficiency with HVAC and compressor tools, diagnostic equipment, and
excellent communication skills. Ability to travel between sites and work in varying
outdoor conditions.
Physical Requirements: Ability to handle heavy equipment and work in confined
spaces.
Preferred Backgrounds: Millwright program graduates, military backgrounds
(mechanical expertise), or experience with blowers, pumps, and automation.
