Job Title: Director of Construction - Residential

About the Role:
Our client, a leading residential developer, is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Construction to oversee and manage their construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in residential construction, particularly in mid to high-rise projects, ensuring that all developments meet the highest standards of quality, are completed on schedule, and remain within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the entire construction process for residential projects, from pre-construction planning to project delivery.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment with design and quality standards.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal construction regulations and building codes.
- Implement and enforce safety standards on all job sites.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the construction team, including project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, address challenges, and maintain quality control.
- Prepare detailed project reports for senior management, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Lead efforts to resolve construction disputes or delays efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in residential construction, with at least 8 years in a leadership role managing mid to high-rise developments.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proficient in construction management software and project tracking tools.
- Certifications: PMP, LEED, or similar certifications are a plus.
