GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Planner/Scheduler who is passionate about driving efficiency and success.

As a Planner/Scheduler, you'll be at the heart of our growing, diverse, and innovative engineering team: orchestrating timelines, optimizing resources, and ensuring seamless project execution. Using your technical background, you'll collaborate closely with engineering managers to create and manage the master schedule for our department's design, build, and commissioning activities. This role will allow you to forecast, allocate, and optimize resource usage, while fostering open communication, analyzing risks and proposing corrective actions to keep projects on track.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Schedule Development and Tracking: Overseeing the creation, maintenance, and analysis of the engineering department master schedule, including critical path identification, baseline updates and ensuring multi-project schedule dependencies are considered
  • Manage Resource Planning: Leading the development and allocation of personnel and equipment for projects, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  • Forecast Workforce Needs and Impact: Analyze future project requirements and resource availability to forecast workload and potential impact on the engineering team's capacity
  • Support Project Managers: Assisting project managers with scheduling tasks, progress tracking, and report generation
  • Maintain Communication & Reporting: Facilitating communication between teams, preparing project reports, keeping stakeholders informed of schedule updates and potential risks.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Optimizing scheduling processes, tools, and databases for enhanced efficient and cost reduction.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Technology or other related field.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in project coordination, planning, and/or scheduling in technical or engineering industries.
  • Advanced experience in planning, scheduling, and reporting tools such as MS Suite, Primavera, and PowerBI.
  • Proficient in digital planning systems for resource and scheduling planning.
  • Experience with resource allocation and forecasting for complex projects is an asset.
  • Able to establish department planning processing while venturing outside what is already in place.
  • The ability to proactively communicate and actively listen in a professional, knowledgeable and credible way across various teams and departments.
  • Easily embrace, adapt, and encourage change in technologies and processes.
  • Ability to develop and manage project schedules, including logic development, progress measurement, and change order impact analysis.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management, Critical Path Analysis, and risk assessment techniques is considered an asset.

Security Requirements
