Position Summary
The Service Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the overall performance of the Service department across assigned branches. This includes overseeing daily operations, achieving corporate goals, managing a high-performing team, and fostering strong customer relationships. This position offers the opportunity to lead a dynamic team while contributing to the success and growth of Avenir Energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Inspire, coach, and develop the service team, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise daily operations of the service department to ensure efficiency and compliance with corporate objectives.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Manage employee schedules, including on-call rotations, leave approvals, and performance appraisals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor KPIs, lead daily communication and safety meetings, and drive process optimization initiatives.
  • Customer Focus: Address service-related inquiries and resolve issues to maintain and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee equipment usage, inventory tracking, maintenance, and monthly reporting.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to align on objectives and improve service delivery.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into service-related incidents, ensuring resolution and preventative measures are implemented.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree or 5+ years of progressive experience in operations management, business, or technical trades.
  • Industry knowledge in propane distribution, energy, or HVAC is an asset.
  • G2 certification (minimum requirement).
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and supervise high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; project management experience is an asset.
  • Safety-oriented with a commitment to fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Willingness to travel within the region as required.

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office, outdoor, and warehouse environments, including potential exposure to extreme temperatures or loud machinery.
  • Travel within the region, up to 50%.
