LOCATION: Initial Placement – Burford Administration Office
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three year diploma in Civil, Environmental Engineering Technology, Construction, or equivalent
- Membership in OACETT as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) is required to be able to be obtained within 2 years.
- Three years' work related experience with municipal stormwater and/or wastewater infrastructure and project management.
- Knowledge of municipal stormwater management and wastewater systems operations theories and best practices, including design, maintenance, environmental monitoring (e.g. water sampling, laboratory data management), quality management systems, condition monitoring (eg. CCTV inspection), pertinent legislation, policies, bylaws within federal, provincial and municipal governments
- Understanding and ability to develop programs and processes based on applicable legislation and approvals (e.g. CLI-ECA, OWRA)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including report writing and presentations
- Strong project management skills, problem solving skills, well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects with changing demands and priorities
- Excellent organizational, team, interpersonal, and public relations skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills that are resolution oriented
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, GIS software and AutoCAD.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
- Valid G driver's licence and an acceptable driver abstract
- Experience in a municipal environment
- Experience implementing the Drainage Act for municipal drains
- Drainage Superintendent qualification
- Experience with stormwater modeling software
- Wastewater Operator in Training (OIT) Licence, or higher
- Program development, coordination and implementation of inspection and monitoring programs for stormwater and wastewater infrastructure in accordance with requirements under associated CLI-ECA approvals, County policies, quotes/tenders, plans and specifications
- Preparation and updating of operations and maintenance manuals, policies, procedures and written reports pertaining to stormwater and wastewater infrastructure
- Preparation of request for quotes, tenders and proposals
- Contract management of consultants and contractors completing maintenance, inspections, monitoring and repairs on the County's stormwater and wastewater systems.
- Coordinate and implement inspection, maintenance and environmental sampling programs, including completion of field work
- Contract management and program coordination for municipal drains
- Attend job sites as required in all weather conditions
- Ensuring corporate and legislative Health and Safety practices are followed
- Participate in continual improvement processes and projects to improve program efficiencies
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, participating in cross-divisional initiatives
- Ensure conformance with environmental quality procedures and protocols
- Management and analysis of environmental monitoring, inspection and infrastructure data
- Managing and updating data in County's GIS system
- Other duties as assigned
