CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing material and suspended acoustical ceilings. With locations around the world, CGC and USG have the resources, plants, products and people to build walls, ceilings and careers.

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting for a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt for our gypsum plant, based in Hagersville, Ontario.

It's a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their skills and abilities in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.
Under the guidance of the Process Improvement Manager, they will work with plant leadership supporting and maintaining the Continuous Improvement plans of the Hagersville plant.

Additional responsibilities include:

•Researching and identifying potential DMAIC projects and using established leadership skills to build, develop, and lead teams to execute a solution for the project.
•Using standardized Lean Six Sigma methodologies to impact topline revenue opportunities and reduce overall cost. This includes identifying integration issues, removing barriers to success and tracking project status to obtain results as quickly as possible.
•Working with plant management to develop and achieve continuous improvements basics.
•Responsible for training and/or supporting workplace organization such as 5s, project home, and structured problem solving at the point of production.
•Supporting and coaching reflection meetings, Gemba walks, area board usage, and other foundational CI elements.
Leadership: Responsible for two-way open communication throughout the Plant for all CI efforts. The candidate must be able to give and receive critical feedback based on direct observation and data. Must be able to inspire, motivate, and spark others to take action. Must be a decisive team leader that is results oriented and work effectively with a cross functional team and people over whom he/she has no authority.
Teamwork: Actively participates/collaborates with team members to enhance team's effectiveness. Must be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals with all Disc styles. Builds cooperative relationships and ensures continuing development of their skills in this area.
Decision Making / Problem Solving: Follows Continuous Improvement problem-solving methodologies. Understands statistical analysis tools, project management, Lean Six Sigma, quality, safety, and LEAN manufacturing and applies them to analyze the planned activities to formulate actions, and carefully weighs consequences of contemplated action. Meets with process owners and others that will be affected by the change to seek buy-in and direct input.

Administrative & Organizational Skills: Facilitates and/or leads the CI processes as needed in their area of influence. Goal oriented, persistent, and driven to achieve objectives. Proficient with Microsoft office tools and good communication skills.

Qualifications:
•Minimum of two years' experience in manufacturing is preferred
•Experience in a supervisory role is preferred
•Experience participating in multiple problem-solving events (Kaizen, Standard Work, DMAIC, etc.)
•Change leadership and team management skills
•Good communication skills and able to speak at all levels of the organization
•Understands LEAN methodology
•Good time management and project management skills
•Able to self-manage time and workload at acceptable levels
•Proficiency in MS Office applications
Certification Requirements:
•Green Belt training and certification will be expected with a maximum of 3 weeks' travel. Travel will not be required thereafter.
•Must successfully complete the USG Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification process within 2 years of completing Green Belt training.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 7:00AM to 3:00PM

Hourly wage: $36.00

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
