Role Overview
The Program Supervisor will play a key role within Ballad's Edmonton Integrated Training Programs, overseeing programs with varying focus in insurance, transportation and supply chain. This leadership position is responsible for program planning and development, training, and partnership management.
The successful candidate will be a passionate and motivating leader who will help guide their teams to meet the evolving needs of individual learners. This role is crucial in supporting participants' long-term workforce attachment and resilience to economic vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead and support a team of program coordinators who are accountable to each workforce development program.
- Strong problem solving skills with ability to resolve a variety of team issues including but not limited to: recruitment, facilitation, and work placements.
Program Oversight
- Ensure the successful implementation and alignment of training programs with organizational goals.
- Monitor, evaluate, and adjust programs to achieve desired outcomes.
Recruitment and Facilitation
- Guide and support the team in participant recruitment.
- Maintain high-quality facilitation standards across programs.
Work Placement and Employer Engagement
- Support initiatives to develop and maintain employer relationships for participant placements.
- Ensure successful work placements and resolve related issues.
Compliance and Funding
- Ensure compliance with government-funded program requirements and reporting.
Networking and Community Engagement
- Build and maintain a professional network within Edmonton's workforce development community.
- Represent the organization at industry events and build partnerships.
Narrative and Reporting
- Develop compelling narratives for monthly and end-of-program reports.
- Communicate program impact effectively to stakeholders.
Technical and Data Management
- Track and analyze program data using Excel and project management tools (Monday.com)
- Use data insights for program improvements and decision-making.
Experience
The position requires the following skills, experience, and abilities:
- A degree or diploma in Management or a related field
- Proven experience in leading and managing training programs, preferably in government-funded environments.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring direct reports, offering guidance, support, and fostering a positive work culture
- Proficient in data tracking and analysis using Excel and project management tools.
- Skills in cultivating an accountable, collaborative and entrepreneurial team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Strong network within the workforce development community in Edmonton.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to support team members in various challenges.
- Knowledge of recruitment, facilitation, and work placement processes.
