Summary:
The Warehouse and Documentation Clerk assists with activities related to the Shipping, Receiving and Warehouse functions related to the processing of customer orders and incoming material. This includes filling orders by; picking, packing and verifying orders as well as assisting and/or completing daily cycle counts. Reach Truck operation is required. In addition, this role will be responsible for the daily and electronic completion of documentation. Attention to detail, accuracy and a high level of customer service is essential in this role. This role will work as a part of the Warehouse team as well as, will complete tasks independently. Ensuring all company policies and processes are followed. Participation if FET's Health, Safety and Environment program is required. Special projects and other duties assigned.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing the required personal safety equipment.
- Pick and verify accuracy for outgoing customer orders.
- Maintain electronic Metal Trace Report database including
- Scanning, retrieving, naming and filing of documentation
- Customer set up and access
- Communicating any inaccurate information
- Acting as a liaison with Houston MTR department on required amendments.
- Download and entry of MTR's as received daily for shipments and project orders.
- Verification of product serial numbers versus MTR to ensure accuracy.
- Visual inspection of product confirming details such as damage, serial and heat trace numbers.
- Compile all related documentation for an order per customer requirements.
- Ability to communicate with customers electronically and verbally in a timely and professional manner.
- Review and verification of information on reports for accuracy, as well as correcting errors as necessary.
- Complete periodic audits of metal trace system to ensure accuracy is maintained.
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Identify, quarantine, and communicate any Non-Conforming product.
- May perform data entry of relevant shipping/receiving information into Business Central (ERP).
- Operates reach truck and/or forklift to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
- May receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment.
- Assist with cycle counting process.
- General housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Performs other duties and activities as directed.
Skills/Knowledge
- Prior experience in a Warehouse or similar environment.
- Knowledge of ERP systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Email, Typing).
- Able to change tasks or direction while maintaining organization.
- Capable to work effectively in a team environment as well as, independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift to 44lbs
- Valve knowledge an asset
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum of 5+ year(s) related experience in a Warehouse environment
- 2+ years prior Reach Truck experience preferred but not required.
