Position Summary:

Position: HVAC Journeyperson (Camp & Plant Positions Available)

Type: Full Time

Location: CNRL Horizon and/or CNUL Albian HVAC

Schedule: 7x7 (great for work/life balance)

Wage: $55.49 (A dual ticket premium will apply where applicable.)

Role Summary:

Bouchier is looking for an HVAC Journeyperson who would be responsible for the maintenance and repair of HVAC+R systems, as well as keeping equipment clean, fixed and maintained for the client. The HVAC group ensures the heating, cooling and ventilation systems in a building are always operational. This entails routine inspections, as well as maintenance and repairs of new and existing systems. The HVAC Journeyperson makes recommendations pertaining to improvements that can be made.

Primary Responsibilities:

Camp

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain PTAC units, kitchen appliances, walk in coolers, food service equipment (ex. Cleveland, Hobart, Rational, etc.), freezers, ovens, fryers, commercial dishwashers, soft serve ice cream machines, exhaust fans, makeup airs, furnaces, and split systems
  • You are required to supply your own basic hand tools
  • Other duties as assigned

Plant

  • Install refrigeration or air conditioning components
  • Repair & replace refrigeration piping and components
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair & perform routine maintenance and servicing on makeup airs, air handlers, exhaust fans, unit heaters, wall mounts, packaged air conditioners, split systems and other HVAC+R systems as required
  • Handle, recover and store refrigerants following safe handling requirements (ODS)
  • Test and repair electrical components including motors, VFDs, and control systems (PLC systems)
  • Provide training, mentorship and support for Apprentices as required
  • Must be able to work outside under adverse conditions
  • Must be comfortable with working at heights
  • Must be able to maintain high level of safe work practices at all times
  • You are required to supply your own basic hand tools
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Must hold valid Red Seal Journeyman Refrigeration And Air Conditioning Mechanic Certification
  • Class B Gas Ticket or A Ticket would be considered an asset
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a ticketed journeyman preferred
  • Previous oil sands site experience will be considered an asset
  • ODS HRAI Certification
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Clean 5 year Driver's Abstract Required
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation, OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019)
  • Strong mechanical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Good co-ordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to troubleshoot and rectify a large variety of operational problems
  • Good physical strength and stamina
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with co-workers, contractors & clients
  • All applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English.
