THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a HDPE Fusion Technician. As a leading provider of pipeline installation and infrastructure services specializing in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe fusion across North America. They serve a variety of industries, including water and wastewater, civil construction, and mining as a top distributor. As they continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated and skilled HDPE Fusion Technician to join their team in Milton, ON.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs HDPE and FPVC fusion welding, ensuring adherence to proper procedures and techniques to maintain system integrity and optimal performance.
  • Conducts mechanical system tasks, including but not limited to fusion equipment rebuilding, operating overhead cranes and forklifts, utilizing machine shop power tools, and performing fire hydrant repairs, as well as other mechanical work on water and wastewater systems.
  • Perform HDPE pipe and fitting fusion (butt, socket, and electrofusion).
  • Inspect and prepare pipe, fittings, and equipment for fusion.
  • Ensure proper operation of fusion equipment, including calibrations and maintenance.
  • Collaborates with municipal and industrial supervisors to interpret and clarify job specifications.
  • Delivers high-quality customer service and provides effective problem-solving solutions.
  • Assists with warehouse operations, including receiving and shipping inventory, operating forklifts, and ensuring the yard and warehouse remain clean and organized.
  • Occasionally undertakes other related duties within the scope of the role to support the ongoing needs of the organization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of proven experience as an HDPE Fusion Technician or in a similar role within the pipeline or construction industry.
  • Butt Fusion welding experience is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • External Forklift License required.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Certification in HDPE fusion (e.g., McElroy, electrofusion, or other industry-recognized certifications) is preferred.
  • Intermediate math skills and basic computer literacy.
  • Excellent attention to detail and focus on quality control.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
