Job Title: Landscape Estimator
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Landscape Estimator to join a growing team. The Landscape Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for landscape construction projects, working with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids. This role requires a strong understanding of landscape construction, plant materials, and estimating techniques, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for landscape construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure all required work is captured in the estimate.
- Perform quantity take-offs for landscape materials such as plants, irrigation systems, paving, and other site furnishings.
- Collaborate with project managers, landscape architects, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and ensure project scope is well understood.
- Maintain and update the estimating database with accurate and current cost data.
- Develop and submit bids for landscape construction projects, ensuring estimates meet the projects financial goals and timeline.
- Analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure they align with project specifications and budget requirements.
- Provide ongoing support to the project team during the pre-construction and construction phases to ensure cost control and project success.
- Ensure that all estimates comply with industry standards and best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in landscape estimating or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction practices, materials, and plant species.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients.
- A diploma or degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
