Mi'kmaw Language Teachers (Term position)

The We'koqma'q Mi'kmaw School (WMS) is looking for a Mi'kmaw Language Teacher for a term position to be available for teaching Mi'kmaw Language to parents of the students in WMS. This is a term position from September to April.

The Mi'kmaw Language teacher will carry out all the duties and functions of that teacher and will ensure to work with the established curriculum framework to maximize student learning experiences.

Requirements:

• Valid NS teacher certification
• Knowledge of Mi'kmaq language and culture, must be proficient in the Mi'kmaw language with the ability to read, write and speak the Mi'kmaw language.
• Excellent classroom and student management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and community
• Current criminal record with vulnerable sector check and child abuse check must be provided.
