Job Description

As a Strategic Development Program Trainee, you will progress through a 5 phased program to learn every aspect of our business from shipping and receiving, to sales, operations, purchasing, account management and everything in between; project management, ERP, CRM, and taking part of social some events.

Phase 1 -Warehouse Logistics

  • Learn the products we sell, how they get from the vendor to the customer and understand all levels of sales support.

Phase 2 - Operations

  • Get involved in our customer service, counter sales, order management, inventory and pricing controls, credit management, financial statements, and much more…

Phase 3 - Inside Sales/Project Management

  • Go from helping customers with various product and service issues to managing large-scale projects.

Phase 4 - Account Development

  • Learn how to find new business opportunities, sell our products, negotiate contracts, and build customer and vendor relationships.

Phase 5 - In this phase, you can take all of your training and determine your ideal career path.

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among teams, partners, and stakeholders to promote knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Monitor program performance against established metrics and targets and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, issues, and best practices in international development, and apply relevant knowledge to program design and implementation.
  • Manage the social media marketing and presence for the development programs.
  • Collaborate with the profit centre manager to develop program goals, objectives, and implementation plans.
  • Coordinate logistics and resources for program activities, including meetings, workshops, training sessions, and community events.
  • Participating in all aspects of the business, developing processes, and assisting in the elimination of bottlenecks to increase profitability.
  • Other duties as required.

Salary Range: $50k-55k

Profit Share Bonus: Dependent on business profitability. Aim and expectation 1:1.

Qualifications
  • College and/or University degree
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with fast-paced customer service or counter sales
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
  • Waterworks experience is not required but strongly desired
