One of our food processing clients is looking for a 2nd Class Engineer at Stoney Creek, ON region for their manufacturing facility.

Shift : 12 hours continental rotation

Pay Rate : $45/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain boilers, refrigeration systems, and auxiliary equipment in accordance with established standards and safety regulations.

• Perform routine inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on all mechanical and utility systems, including boilers, compressors, chillers, HVAC systems, water treatment, and electrical components.

• Monitor and adjust system controls, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency in line with production demands.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state/provincial, and federal safety regulations, particularly regarding food processing environments.

• Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to minimize downtime.

• Complete and maintain detailed records of daily operations, maintenance activities, safety checks, and repairs.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of energy conservation strategies.

• Assist in emergency response situations and perform tasks as needed to maintain facility safety and operational integrity.

• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other food safety requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid 2nd Class Power Engineer (Operating Engineer) certification.

• 3-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing or related industrial environment.

• Strong knowledge of boiler systems, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment operation and maintenance.

• Familiarity with food industry safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., GMP, HACCP, etc.).

• Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
