We are seeking an empathetic and collaborative Program Manager to lead a group home in the Parksville area, in partnership with CLBC and MCFD. As Program Manager, you'll guide a team of Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to meet the physical, emotional, social, and health needs of individuals with limited mobility, promoting a culture of respect and collaboration with families and stakeholders. Ideal candidates have strong leadership skills, a background in social services or healthcare, and experience supporting individuals with diverse abilities. Key Responsibilities
- Professional Representation: Actively represent Bonaventure in community settings, with funders, and on various committees, embodying our mission, values, and ethics.
- Collaborative Partnership: Work closely with MCFD, CLBC, VIHA, DDMHT, HSCL, Behavior Consultants, and the Bonaventure leadership to create a supportive, integrated network of care.
- Policy Adherence and Leadership: Uphold Bonaventure's Policies, Procedures, Code of Ethics, and relevant legislation (Motor Vehicle Act, CLBC, MCFD, CARF, WorkSafe-BC, Employment Standards).
- Team Cohesion: Foster a collaborative, supportive work environment that values the diverse perspectives of all team members.
- Scheduling and Resource Management: Oversee weekly staffing schedules, reconcile monthly petty cash expenditures. Provide ongoing performance management for team members, offering constructive feedback, setting clear expectations, and supporting professional growth to enhance team effectiveness and service quality.
- Collaborate with Health and Therapy Professionals: Work closely with Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to ensure adherence to nursing protocols and procedures, maintaining high standards of health care. Partner with Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists to implement personalized care plans that support each individual's unique needs, promoting well-being, communication, and independence.
- Advocacy and Respect: Promote respectful treatment of individuals, respecting each person's unique personality, challenges, and rights.
- Health and Safety: Collaborate on Health and Safety and Behavior Support Plans with Behavior Consultants, emphasizing CARF Accreditation standards.
- Person-Centered Planning: Develop individualized Person-Centered Plans and Risk Assessments, incorporating input from guardians and relevant stakeholders.
- Staff and Family Engagement: Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with families, team members, and external partners.
- Privacy and Confidentiality: Uphold a secure environment that respects and maintains confidentiality and privacy for all individuals.
- Leadership and Problem Solving: Collaborate with HR and Director teams to tackle organizational challenges, facilitate solutions, and make informed decisions.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Diploma or Degree in a related field, with preferred experience in supporting individuals with diverse abilities (e.g., CSW, RCA, SIVA).
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal communication and teamwork.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to work independently in a high-stress environment, with strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Physical Requirements: Must be in good health with the ability to carry out duties and shift responsibilities as needed.

- Valid BC Class 4/W5 Driver's License (must obtain class 4 license during probation)
- RCMP Criminal Record Check (Schedule A - Employer will file).
- MCFD Hub Screening (Employer will file).
- First Aid with CPR Certificate.
