OPPORTUNITY

Fengate is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst, Data Analytics to join our team at Fengate Asset Management. As a leading Asset Management firm with over $7 billion in asset under management, Fengate specializes in Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Private Equity investments and is committed to delivering exceptional value to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a Data Engineer or as a Data Analyst in a financial environment, preferably with experience in asset management and/or private equity.

The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain and optimize our analytical solution, ensuring accurate and efficient data analysis, reporting, and visualization using Power BI, SQL, Excel Power Query/VBA, and Microsoft Azure services. In addition, the role involves collaborating closely with all business units, ensuring alignment on data initiatives, managing stakeholder expectations, and supporting business needs. The candidate should possess strong financial knowledge and in-depth experience in analyzing financial data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Solution Development and Maintenance

  • Maintain and enhance the existing analytical solution, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement data models, transformations, visualizations, and customized dashboards using Power BI to meet business requirements.
  • Utilize Excel Power Query and VBA to streamline data processing tasks and automate workflows.
  • Develop and implement best practices for data upload and ensure accuracy in data outputs.
  • Design and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from various data sources and Azure SQL.

Stakeholder Management and Collaboration

  • Gather, review, and analyze business requirements from various business units.
  • Maintain and manage the backlog of requirements, conducting prioritization calls with business stakeholders to manage expectations.
  • Manage project timelines for deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and understand business needs and translate them into actionable analytics solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders, including training on analytical solution usage and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate and liaise between various business units to ensure alignment and timely communication on data-related projects.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Proactively identify areas of enhancement with a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and advancements in analytical tools and technologies.

Data Pipeline Management

  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, ensuring smooth data flow and resolving issues or bottlenecks.
  • Work with Microsoft Azure services, such as Data Factory, to orchestrate data movement and processing workflows.
  • Develop and maintain Azure logic apps workflows.

Documentation and Governance

  • Maintain documentation related to the analytical solution, including data models, data dictionaries, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with data management, governance, and security best practices.

Requirements

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance or a related field.
  • Proven experience in maintaining and optimizing analytical solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and report/dashboard design.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL for data manipulation, querying, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in Excel Power Query and VBA for data processing and automation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, particularly Data Factory, for data integration and orchestration.
  • Excellent understanding of financial concepts, terminology, and experience working with financial data and ability to implement best practices around data management, compliance and governance.
  • Previous experience in a Data Engineer or Data Analyst role in a financial environment, preferably in asset management or private equity, is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
