Job Summary
We're looking for a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license. This role involves project management, developing technical work products, and contributing to business and market development in collaboration with other senior staff. Relocation to Dallas, TX, will be required within approximately six months if not currently residing there. A relocation allowance will be provided.
General Responsibilities
- Provide fire protection engineering services, including life safety consulting, sprinkler design, fire alarm design, and performance-based fire engineering design across various facility types, with a focus on the Dallas market.
- Collaborate on strategies to establish and grow market share in the local Dallas area.
- Conduct building and fire code reviews, plan reviews, and site visits.
- Classify hazardous chemicals and prepare hazardous materials inventory statements for industrial properties.
- Assess high-piled storage arrangements and develop associated reports for permits.
- Ensure client satisfaction by completing tasks on schedule and within budget.
- Prepare and peer review technical reports related to projects.
- Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to address client design challenges.
- Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in business development activities.
- Mentor junior staff members.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering. Candidates with significant industry experience in fire protection, life safety, or code consulting who are not on the engineering track will also be considered.
- Licensing: Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Experience: 5-10 years of related experience.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and prepare deliverables for peer review.
- Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with industry professionals, associated trades, and jurisdictional authorities.
- Strong communication skills for clear and concise interactions both internally and externally.
- Experience coordinating with professionals across multiple disciplines; prior project management experience is preferred but not required.
Salary Range
$110,000 - $150,000 plus bonuses, depending on experience and qualifications
