The Role
Our client is a growing and reputable food processing plant basedDelta, BCand on their behalf, we are looking for aElectricianto join the maintenance team!This is a full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday (7:30 AM to 4 PM) position. This position offers great benefits!
Responsibilities:
- Preventive and breakdown maintenance, trouble-shooting, repair, calibration, and installation as an Instrumentation and Controls.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, distribution equipment, appliances, apparatus, fixtures or other components, using hand tools, power tools and various test instruments, to ensure compatibility and safety of the electrical system.
- Diagnoses causes of electrical distribution and electrical problems or failures in assigned systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems to be repaired.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Install, maintain, repair, and test hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical drive systems, automation systems and equipment, robotic systems, and electronic control systems and devices as well as microprocessor-based (PLC) systems.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot emergency stand-by systems, heating, ventilation, and climate control systems.
- Calibrate instrumentation devices using specialized test equipment and software.
- Install and maintain, and repair automated equipment and robotic systems. Performs related duties as required.
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years experience working as an Industrial Electrician
- A trade certification at Journeyperson level (Red Seal Electrician or Industrial Electrician) but open
- Experience with PLC programming is an asset
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, sketches of work required, and maintenance manuals.
- A working knowledge of relevant industrial safety regulations and building codes
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and additional hours to meet the operational requirements of the organization
Compensation
- $45-$50 per hour
- Benefits and $500 Health spending account
- After 1 year, RSP matching (50% company match). 2% after 2nd year and progresses to 6% after 6 years of employment
- 2 weeks of paid vacation first year, 2nd year 3 weeks, 4th year 4 weeks
