SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER, AREA X.O
INVEST OTTAWA OPERATIONS
Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Performance Management, IT & Systems, the Senior Manager, Programsis responsible for overseeing a portfolio of projects to ensure delivery aligns with contribution agreements. S/he leads the monitoring and evaluation of the projects to assess progress, targets/objectives, compliance, and budgets.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Leads day-to-day project management of a portfolio of funding agreements
Leads the monitoring, completion, and timely submission of accurate financial and progress reports
Monitors and controls project progress, targets/objectives, and compliance against contribution agreements
Manages project budgets, forecasts, and claims in collaboration with Finance
Develops and manages relationships with new and existing program partners and funders
Identifies project problems and risks, and ensures necessary corrective measures are implemented; makes recommendations to senior leadership as required
Conducts regular team project status reviews to assess achievement of targets and budget
Evaluates and manages changes to scope, budget, and timelines
Leads the development and management of project governance mechanisms (controls)
Provides project information at functional sub-team meetings and to other stakeholders
Makes recommendations to senior leadership on alignment of programming, initiatives, and activities with corporate strategic plan
Contributes to the corporate strategic objective of operational excellence, specifically in the design of processes related to programs and finance
WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED/GAINED THROUGHOUT YOUR CAREER:
University Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Education or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Professional Designation (Project Management) and/or a Masters degree considered an asset
Accounting or Financial Analysis experience considered an asset.
Minimum 7 years work experience in a government funded organization.
Ability to integrate risk management practices into project management frameworks.
Ability to analyze large amounts of data / information and make conclusions /recommendations.
Ability to analyze funding agreements and make conclusions/recommendations.
Proven Project Management experience with the ability to multi-task several projects at once, including proposal development and financial management of multi-million dollar projects.
Demonstrated ability as a team player.
Proven ability at problem solving.
Demonstrated computer proficiency in Windows, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM software.
Work Expectations
Full time 37.5 hours per week with 10 days per month required in the office.
