Are you the one we're looking for?

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Site Supervisor/Early Years Facilitator who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment; to our clients, families, and each other.

The Site Supervisor/Early Years Facilitator is to deliver Early Years services in an EarlyON Child and Family Centre and be a Site Supervisor in a Before and After School program.

This position is a unionized, full-time, permanent position. The rate of pay for the Site Supervisor role is $21.61. The rate of pay for the Early Years Facilitator role is $22.89. The rate of pay can vary from $23.65 - $30.61 based on eligible wage top ups available. Hours are 40 per week. This role has shifts within operating hours from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, however, EarlyON programs are also open Saturday and Sunday.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, plan, promote, implement, and evaluate day-to-day operations of the programs with the support of the Manager and Supervisor, Early Years, and other staff.
  2. Ensure oversight, safety, and care of all children, and participants in the program at all times.
  3. Plan and implement programming based on the Ministry of Education's pedagogy “How Does Learning Happen?”.
  4. Create and maintain a safe learning environment that is responsive to the interests and needs of the children in the program.
  5. Be familiar with and adhere to licensing requirements per the Ministry of Education, Child Care and Early Years Act (2014).
  6. Responsible for completing daily, monthly, and annual licensed program record keeping, including child files.
  7. Be familiar with and adhere to all licensed program policies and procedures.
  8. Be familiar with and adhere to the EarlyON Child and Family Centre mandate, services and procedures.
  9. Provide current and relevant information to parents/caregivers about services in the community and at Wesley that may address their needs and make appropriate referrals as required.
  10. Facilitate engaging programs and/or workshops in the EarlyON Child and Family Centre.

What you will bring:

  1. Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education and registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators, or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience working with urban core children ages 2-12 years.
  3. Experience working in a child care setting, with parents, and with community partners.
  4. Documentation to support ongoing professional development in the field of early learning and care.
  5. Strong team experience and organizational and problem-solving skills.
  6. Thorough knowledge of applicable legislation i.e. Child Care and Early Years Act (2014).
