The Opportunity (Role Summary)

We are seeking a Conformance QA Specialist with healthcare industry experience to ensure digital health platforms meet Canadian healthcare standards and compliance requirements. This role involves designing and executing test strategies, managing automated and manual conformance testing, and working closely with vendors and stakeholders throughout the testing lifecycle. The Conformance QA Specialist will play a key role in building automated frameworks, enhancing testing platforms, and ensuring the seamless integration of systems within the healthcare ecosystem.

What you will do

  • Review technical documentation and system specifications to ensure alignment with Canadian healthcare regulations and standards
  • Deliver comprehensive testing solutions, estimating, defining test strategies, creating test cases, and managing test data to meet healthcare-specific conformance standards.
  • Design automation frameworks from scratch, enhance existing ones, and build robust regression suites for both functional and conformance testing.
  • Develop, update, and execute automated scripts for web, mobile, and API testing using tools like Selenium, Postman, or Appium.
  • Responsible for entire testing lifecycle, from execution to validation, ensuring alignment with timelines and compliance standards.
  • Prepare training materials and documentation to help stake holders with conformance activities and audits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (PMO, delivery, development, and business stakeholders) to ensure project success by managing risks, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Review and align test strategies, test cases, and traceability matrices with healthcare standards and business requirements.
  • Ensure thorough test preparation by validating environments, dependencies, and test data prior to execution.
  • Provide real-world scenario feedback to improve testing platforms and simulators.
  • Ensure test scenarios are accurate, relevant, and complete, reflecting real healthcare workflows and patient data exchange.
  • Execute test cases for web, mobile, and API systems, validating results for accuracy, reliability, and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Manage defect cycles, logging and tracking issues in Jira, and ensure timely resolution through collaborative feedback loops with development and BA teams.
  • Provide real-world feedback to enhance testing platforms and simulators.
  • Ensure scenarios are relevant, accurate, and comprehensive, reflecting healthcare workflows and patient data exchanges.
  • Perform database testing in MySQL by validating stored data, triggers, and jobs.
  • Automate APIs, create frameworks from scratch, and maintain robust API test scripts for healthcare compliance.
  • Develop and execute performance and load tests using tools like LoadRunner and JMeter.
  • Test for AODA compliance in web and mobile applications, generating reports and recommendations for accessibility improvements.
  • Track and analyze QA KPIs, identify trends, and develop action plans for quality improvements.
  • Provide root cause analysis for defects and incidents, driving initiatives to mitigate risks.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of QA KPIs. Review and analyze Quality and Velocity metrics data, identify trends and key risk drivers. Provide root cause analysis of defects and incidents, put together improvement action plans

In the absence of a QA Lead, the Sr. QA Analyst may support with the following:

  • Provide comprehensive and accurate Testing Status Report with a summary of work completed against the task assigned, issues encountered & resolved along with a detailed description of key issues encountered to be sent weekly.
  • Work collaboratively among different teams to develop and improve QA processes and deliverables.
  • Ability to accommodate additional effort requirement based on client needs.
  • Proactively utilize team meetings and conferences to update progress, achievements and other related issues of tasks assigned to all the share holders and team members.
  • Available on Teams/Zoom to report progress status, raise clarifications/queries requests as and when necessary.
  • Support other analysts by reviewing work, leading the team and providing constructive feedback when required.

What You'll need

Formal Education or Equivalent

  • University degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent education and experience

Years of Experience

  • 5+ year's experience in various types of testing including Functional, Systems Integration, Performance & Stress, Regression
  • 5+ year's experience with Testing Lifecycle Management Tools (i.e. JIRA, Confluence)
  • 4+ year's experience with testing Web-based applications, mobile applications, and APIs
  • 4+ year Automation Experience using tools such as Selenium, Appium
  • 5+ years of experience with healthcare projects
  • 5+ years of experience with conformance testing
  • 6+ experience with test planning and execution of web and mobile applications, in a fastpaced and highly productive working environment
  • 5+ years of experience in database testing in MySQL Server environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procs, jobs, triggers, and replication.
  • 5+ years of experience in testing API/web services – REST, SOAP, POSTMAN
