The Role
Our client is a growing and reputable food establishment based inDelta, BC, and on their behalf, we are looking for a Warehouse Team Lead. This is a full-time, permanent, morning shift. You will be working 5x a week between Monday and Saturday.
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the shipping, receiving, and recording of the movement of products to and from suppliers and customers and directly reports to the Assistant Warehouse Manager.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and arrange shipping documentation (bills of lading, invoices, etc.)
- Supervise and support loaders for efficiency and safety
- Oversee loading/unloading of shipments as needed
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against documents; record shortages and reject damaged items
- Collaborate with QA to prepare coolers and warehouses for audits
- Ensure compliance with specifications for incoming/outgoing goods
- Work with Managers to optimize capacity and meet shipment requirement
- Ensure accuracy of shipping/receiving quantities and notify Logistics/Sales of discrepancies
- Monitor cooler inventory levels for accuracy
- Support and conduct cycle counts and aged inventory checks
- Inspect and maintain Pack equipment; submit maintenance requests as needed
- Collaborate with Managers to forecast supply and product needs
- Inform Sales Management of aging products and inventory levels
- Ensure security, safety, and compliance with food safety regulations
- Work with the Warehouse Operations Manager to streamline shipping/receiving processes
- Assist in developing SOPs and manuals
- Organize contractor crews for loading/unloading and spoilage disposal
- Coordinate off-season moves and setup of production lines and cooler areas
- Provide training to shippers/receivers and peers on shipping/receiving processes
- Use PTI system and manage product receiving
- Ensure compliance with warehouse checklists
- Maintain paperwork flow between Operations and other departments
- Collaborate with Accounting to address inventory discrepancies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Serve as First Aid attendant
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Warehouse Lead
- Strong experience with inventory management
- Excellent leadership skills
- Operational background including material and equipment handling
- ERP experience
- Proficient with MS Office
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Time management and priority management skills
- Reliable transportation and a Drivers license
- Ability to deal with last-minute changes and can work in a fast-paced work environment
