The Company has commercial, property development, and residential portfolios that span Alberta, and Edmonton in Canada as well as Palm Springs in California, USA.
Through its Commercial Properties Division, Lansdowne owns and operates retail plazas and one suburban office building comprising approximately 900,000 square feet of commercial retail space. Through its Property Development Division, Lansdowne has developments in High River and Medicine Hat, Alberta, including other projects under development, planning initiatives and land banking in Alberta.
Lansdowne is seeking a Property Accountant to join their expanding team in Calgary. Reporting to the Senior Property Accountant, the successful candidate will primarily provide accounts receivable and other accounting support for the Commercial and Residential Properties groups.
We are searching for a dynamic individual who works well in a fast-paced environment with high volume of activity. The role requires a detailed mindset, ability to meet strict deadlines and adaptability to changing work demands.
Job Duties:
- Post all tenant payments to tenant ledgers in a timely manner
- Provide accounts receivable reporting to Commercial team
- Prepare accounts receivable reconciliations
- Update and process all pre-authorized debit information
- Prepare and submit PAP reports ensuring all approved adjustments are captured prior to submissions
- Follow established procedures for the collection of arrears
- Prepare/post monthly rent rolls
- Support the preparation of property financials and supplementary reports
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
- Participate in other accounting responsibilities as assigned
- Act as backup and support for other accounting team members
Qualifications:
- Post secondary education in accounting
- Minimum 1+ year of experience with commercial / multi-family / condominium assets
- Prior experience in Yardi Yoyager is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong focus in Excel and Sharepoint
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach and a dedication to continuous improvement
