Health & Safety Administrative Assistant - Injury Management
B&B Contracting Group is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Administrative Assistant to join our Health & Safety (H&S) Team on a contract term of approximately 24 months. The H&S Administrative Assistant will mainly be responsible for overseeing and managing the return-to-work process for employees recovering from work-related injuries or illnesses within the construction industry. This role plays a crucial part in supporting injured employees' reintegration into the workforce. Additionally, they will collaborate with the Health & Safety team to support various safety initiatives and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the company return-to-work program in alignment with industry standards and legal requirements.
- Coordinate injury response protocols, ensuring timely reporting and documentation of incidents.
- Monitor and analyze workplace injuries and incidents to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor employee progress and adjust return-to-work plans as needed.
- Maintain records of injuries and incidents, preparing reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct assessments of job tasks and workplace environments to ensure safe reintegration.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all return-to-work plans and communications.
- Act as a liaison between injured workers, healthcare providers, and regulatory bodies to facilitate return-to-work programs.
- Provide training and support to managers and workers on return-to-work policies and procedures.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of return-to-work programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Efficiently maintain filing and reporting systems, ensuring easy access to crucial information.
- Perform other duties and contribute to additional projects as assigned or directed by the Health & Safety Manager.
Qualifications:
- Background in Construction Health & Safety is an asset.
- Experience in workers' compensation, occupational health and safety, or return-to-work coordination is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of relevant labour laws and regulations.
- Self-motivated and well-organized, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks to manage.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in safety documentation.
Work Environment:
The role will be solely office-based but may require occasional job site visits to coordinate return-to-work plans.
Work Schedule:
The work hours for this position will be Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm
