Position SummaryAre you a dynamic business leader, a professional within an industry sector, and/or a successful entrepreneur with a passion for empowering women entrepreneurs? YW Calgary's 10-week PowerUp Ready entrepreneurship training program is seeking Business Mentors to make a lasting impact on aspiring female business owners. As a mentor, you will provide invaluable guidance, support, and expertise to women navigating the exciting journey of starting or growing their businesses. Your key responsibilities will include offering personalized advice, facilitating skill development, and providing strategic feedback. Reporting to the Program Business Advisor, you will work closely with participants to ignite their entrepreneurial spirit and boost their confidence. Join us in shaping the future of women-led businesses!Detailed ResponsibilitiesThe Business Mentor will provide customized support and/or coaching for women in the PowerUp Ready program as they navigate starting and growing their own businesses. The Business Mentor will provide coaching, support and mentorship during weekly meetings and send a summary of each meeting back to the organization.This position is open to anyone with entrepreneurial expertise in the areas of:
- Customer Discovery
- Market Strategy/Marketing
- Taxes
- Financial Planning/Forecasting
- Risk Management
- Pitching
- Human Resources
- Business Operations
- Market Research and Analysis
- Business Set Up
- Scaling – Business Growth
- Bookkeeping
- 7-10 years experience as a Business Owner, Business Consultant, Financial Consultant, Marketing Expert, Executive Coach, HR Consultant, Senior Strategist, or other related professional Industry experience.
- Access to a booking system such as Calendly

- The minimum age to volunteer with us is 14 years old due to safety protocols.
- A Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Intervention Record Check are required due to the nature of our work. (Note: one-time, special event volunteers are exempt from this requirement).
