As a Continuous Improvements Manager, you'll play a vital role in supporting and optimizing line operations, ensuring our processes meet high standards in safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves providing technical expertise on equipment, formulation, and procedures while leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and reduce costs. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, offering guidance on SOPs, monitoring production targets, and ensuring Plant Process Settings (PPS) documents are accurate and up-to-date. Your leadership will inspire your team to excel, fostering a positive, high-performance work environment aligned with our commitment to food safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure systems are in place to monitor all targets and lead development of processes to improve results including continuous improvement.
  • Review and provide technical support and input into SOP's.
  • Prepare recommendations on related technical matters..Work with the relative departments to evaluate impact of new products / projects on the bakery operations and help develop plans to address conflicts.
  • Maintain and oversee PPS [Plant Process Settings] documents ensuring they are up to date and relevant.
  • Review and provide information on existing products in conjunction with support departments.
  • Work proactively with support teams (maintenance, engineering, sanitation, QA, supply chain, HR, R&D, etc.) to support departmental objective.
  • Inspire your team to achieve excellent results on each shift, ensuring motivational levels remain high and encourage your team to participate in the success of the business. Part of this is to ensure that the roles and responsibilities of each team member are clear.
  • Ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality, and quality.
  • Maintain the required hygiene, safety and quality standards on the production floor.
  • Additional task as the business requires.

Qualifications:

  • Completed (minimum) Grade 12 education or equivalent, with basic math skills is required. Post-secondary education in either a scientific, engineering or technical trades is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience in managing and leading people and processes in a continuous process manufacturing environment is required.
  • A background in bakery / yeast / frozen food manufacturing would be an advantage is preferred.
  • Specific technical knowledge of bakery and food processing.
  • The ability to manage and motivate a multi-discipline team.
