The office in Stoney Creek, Ontario, is looking for an organized and effective Project Manager to join the team.


Summary of the Role:

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for the administration of contract completion and meeting the contractual obligations including those relating to the management of multi-disciplined tradespeople as well as subcontractors/vendors, contract changes, order changes, drawings, material requisitions, etc. all in order to provide a complete and commissioned system installation package.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain direct contact with customers and/or contractors/trades.
  • Represent E.S. Fox Limited as point of contact with the owner in a professional, business-like and reasonable manner.
  • Understand all aspects of a project budget and deal with the owner on all cost issues.
  • Develop overall project schedules and oversee the maintenance, progress, and issuance of schedule.
  • Fully understand the project scope and liaises with the owner on all scope issues.
  • Understand and administer the contractual agreement between E.S. Fox Limited and the owner and ensure that the company meets the contractual requirements.
  • Address all relevant issues with appropriate correspondence in a professional manner.
  • Ensure that the project is executed in a safe manner following the E.S. Fox Limited safety policy, ISO 18001 and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure the environmental aspects of the project are adhered to pursuant to ISO 14001 Environmental requirements of the project.
  • Ensure the appropriate level of quality assurance is applied to the project with the appropriate resources.
  • Ensure the project is adequately resourced for proper control.
  • Develop and oversee the development of all project requisitions and work with the central purchasing group to obtain all material in accordance with project schedules.
  • Recognize and retain productive labour resources.
  • Recognizes and address with issues relating to labour output.
  • Organize and oversee the tools and equipment for the project.
  • Complete and maintain job costing and tracking reports, i.e. - dollars, hours, schedule, etc.
  • Assemble estimates for projects and project extras.
  • Develop cost estimates and suggest and execute cost reduction strategies.
  • Perform and/or supervise field work.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 10 years of direct construction industry experience including estimating, scheduling and/or purchasing.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working within a Project Management role overseeing multi-trade projects valued at a minimum of $10 Million dollars.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential.
  • Professional certification in Project Management through CCA Gold Seal Program or other PMI would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management software (MS Project, Primavera etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Must possess strong technical, managerial, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Solid negotiating and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
