The Role
Our client is a growing and reputable food establishment based inDelta, BCand on their behalf, we are looking for aPayroll Analystto join the Payroll team!This is a full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday from either 8/9AM to 4/5PM.
The Payroll Analyst will directly report to the Payroll Manager and is responsible for administering payroll for both Canada and the US.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for up to 450 employees across six pay groups on a Bi-Weekly and Semi-Monthly schedule, spanning both U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.
- Ensure adherence to special program requirements by accurately processing wages, benefits, housing deductions, and advances, all within the Bi-Weekly payroll cycle.
- Oversee the employee database by managing updates for new hires, terminations, and employee information changes (e.g., addresses, bank accounts), as well as adjustments to rates, taxable benefits, and deductions.
- Generate monthly payroll reports such as vacation liabilities and gross earnings, along with any ad hoc reports as requested by management.
- Prepare and reconcile various remittances, including the Receiver General, WCB, EHT, RRSP, 401K, and other statutory deductions, while also preparing ROEs for departing employees.
- Post journal entries and ensure all payroll-related entries are reconciled accurately and submitted within the required deadlines.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including HR, Scheduling, and Finance teams, addressing any payroll-related inquiries or issues that arise in both Canada and U.S.
- Monitor regulatory and compliance changes for both Canada and the U.S., ensuring timely updates and adjustments to payroll processes as needed.
- Update and maintain the payroll manual to ensure it reflects current procedures and workflows, incorporating any improvements or changes.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements, focusing on enhancing accuracy, efficiency, and overall payroll functionality.
- Lead or support new initiatives and projects and train new payroll/support staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in a Payroll position with processing for at least 200+ employees
- Well-versed with Canadian and U.S payroll legislation
- Post Secondary Degree or Diploma. PCP designation is an asset.
- Exposure and strong experience with Payroll systems.
- Self-motivator and work independently or as part of a team or
- Strong analytical skills; and extreme attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills

- $80,000-$90,000 per year
