We are looking for a Service Shift Manager to join our client's fast-paced, energetic, dealerships in Preeceville, SK and Swan River, MB. This role manages, coordinates, and directs the workload of the Service Department with a high focus on quality of work, effective communication, and Customer Satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Assign/schedule internal/customer/warranty jobs for service employees based on their skills/knowledge and provide feedback.
Work with Service Business Manager on new hire orientation, provide mentorship for new technicians.
Optimize shop efficiency and flow to avoid lost billable hours.
Ensure effective communication and follow up on repair status and issues.
Work with manager to identify/execute continuous process improvements, training opportunities and provide back up in their absence and during peak seasons.
Direct/assist in diagnosis/troubleshooting of machine problems with technicians and apprentices.
Perform final checks/approvals on equipment before start of work order.
Provide excellent customer service consistently above standards; maintain customer relations and respond to inquiries/needs.
Assist Service Advisor in providing quotes on repairs for internal/external customers, and accurate records of work orders.
Build/maintain constructive co-worker relations and foster strong team communications/dynamics.
Assist/conduct safety meetings, encourage safe working habits.
Requirements
Ability to operate vehicles/equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
Ability to lift at least 40 lbs repeatedly; 40-75 lbs on occasion.
Ability to work flexible hours, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
Valid driver's license required
5+ years performing complex service repairs/maintenance
Ag Equipment Tech (JDTECH) Journeyperson Certification/equivalent
Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of ag/turf equipment
Ability to use current business systems, working knowledge of computer functions and use.
