General Description:
The One-to One Worker is a casual position. The One-to-One Worker is responsible for the direct supervision of high risk and special needs children. The One-to-One worker ensures the needs of the child are met according to Kitapinoonjiiminaanik Family Services philosophy, First Nation standards, and provincial regulations and standards. The One-to-One Worker reports to the Alternative Care Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Kitapinoonjiiminaanik Family Services employs One to One Workers to work with children in our Staffed Modeled Homes and to provide relief to Caregivers;
• Workers are required to work day/night shifts for the Staff Modeled homes;
• Responsible for the direct supervision, safety and well-being of high risk and special needs children;
• Responsible for light housekeeping, menu planning, and meal preparation, as required;
• Responsible for observing and report findings to be detailed in a log book;
• Able to work with children and youth between the ages of 0-17;
• Ensures the needs of the child(ren) are met;
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma with one year direct related experience. However, a combination of skills, education and experience may be considered;
• Possess a valid Class “G” Driver's License;
• Current First Aid/CPI training would be an asset;
• Provide a Vulnerable Sector Check and Driver's Abstract prior to employment;
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Be able to maintain confidentiality and professional integrity.
Hours of work: Casual, Flexible
Starting Salary: $28.00
