Position Overview
Our construction team is seeking a skilled and motivated Site Carpenter to join our multi and single-family construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing carpentry tasks on-site, ensuring projects are completed to the highest quality standards. This role requires excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform carpentry work including framing, drywall installation, door and window installation, rough and finish carpentry.
- Complete frame checks and hold trades to PDG scopes of work.
- Prepare construction sites by measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, plastic, and other materials.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on existing structures as needed.
- Select and order appropriate materials, ensuring timely delivery and proper storage on site.
- Assist Site Superintendent with miscellaneous task including but not limited to; cleaning, tarping, setting up heaters, daily site lock ups and QA/AC.
- Ensure all work meets Partners Development Group's quality standards and adheres to building codes and safety regulations.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies during construction to keep projects on track.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations on site, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Maintain and manage carpentry tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Cleaning up after trades partners to ensure site is clean and safe.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of carpentry experience in new home construction.
- Proficient in using a variety of carpentry tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, field drawings, and project specifications and plans.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Results-oriented with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple, competing priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and stamina, able to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the City Safety Codes Inspection process.
- First Aid Training, WHMIS, Fall Arrest.
- Experience turning over homes to customers.
