Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for optimizing clinical and medical operations while supporting the physicians in providing high quality and efficient patient care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Liaises and communicates with physicians and allied health professionals
- Follows all Company Policies and Procedures
- Provides support to the physicians in the clinical care of patients
- Provides appropriate feedback when necessary to help improve patient care and physician efficiency
- Manages diagnostic test referrals
- Pre-visit vitals
- Ensures the availability of patient records and test results for the physicians in a timely manner
- Gives patients vaccines and other injections at the request of the physicians
- Manages medication inventory
- Manages medical supplies inventory
- Manages patient flow
- Complete administrative duties
- Other duties as assigned
- Active RPN license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- At least two (2) years of experience working with physicians in a busy practice
- Healthcare Provider First Aid and CPR Certification
- Ability to apply knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Experience with Microsoft Suite
- Experience with EMR Systems – Accuro experience is considered an asset
- Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task
- Maintains and upgrades clinical skills regularly as per the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Small amount of time spent sitting at a desk or workstation, using office equipment, computer and peripherals (15-20%)
- Large amount of time spent on your feet moving around the clinic (80-85%)
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment. Ability to balance and manage workload tasks. Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
