We're seeking the brightest and most enthusiastic minds for a variety of jobs across the company. Currently, our Engineering team is seeking a full-time Systems Designer for the Threat Management Team (TMT) in our Ottawa, ON office.

TMT is responsible for optimizing electronic warfare systems for delivery to meet the unique requirements for each customer. The successful candidate will be actively involved in characterizing threat devices to expose their vulnerabilities, developing effective defeat mission fills, and verifying waveform effectiveness in hardware-in-the-loop and open-air testing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct lab validation of threat defeat mission fills for Counter-RCIED and Counter-UAS electronic attack systems
  • Build and validate test proxy devices
  • Conduct over-the-air testing of threat defeat mission fills
  • Write technical documents including, but not limited to test reports and technical reports
  • Support definition and assessment of new test infrastructure concepts used in the validation of safety-critical and mission critical applications
  • Work and interface with engineers of different disciplines to achieve overall technical compliance
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comply with and suggest improvements to the company's development processes and procedures
  • Support product demonstration initiatives in concert with other Allen-Vanguard personnel
  • Support implementation of new test infrastructures
  • Work closely with other teams on system integration and validation

Requirements

  • Eligibility for a Canadian security clearance to the level of Secret Level II required
  • A degree in Electrical / Electronics / Communications Engineering or Computer Science or an equivalent of education and experience required
  • Experience in a lab environment
  • Demonstrated capability in the use of common RF test and measurement equipment
  • Demonstrated capability in basic hardware debugging skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Knowledge of radio communications and signal processing fundamentals
  • Experience with Python and Arduino desired
  • Experience with Simulink and MATLAB desired
  • Ability to travel internationally to support capability deployment
