We are looking for a Director of Materials & Logistics

Responsible for providing overall strategic and operational direction for AMTB Materials Management and Logistics activities, including directing and managing all aspects of the company's Freight, Warehousing, Planning and Inventory regionally. As a member of the AMTB Leadership Team, the Director is responsible for contributing to the overall business strategy, establishing goals & objectives; external relationships and partnerships with Forwarders, Carriers and other vendors. A key goal is to optimize our organization's Materials Management and Logistics. This position closely collaborates with Plant Materials and Logistics, Operations and Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute projects to assist North American Plants to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency throughout the company's operation
  • Responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of regional Inventory, planning and Logistics strategies & systems. The implementation and operation of CMS systems and the development of best practices in coordination with plant and other operational lead principles throughout the businesses
  • Introduce improvements in planning, scheduling and inventory management processes at different plant locations. The work will be done plant personnel
  • Be an effective coach and mentor to Materials/Logistics personnel at different AMTB locations on matters related to planning, scheduling and Logistics
  • Responsible for Customs Compliance for all North American locations
  • Develops and provides operational level strategic direction for NA Materials and Logistics teams. Leads and facilitates efforts in support of world-class practices. Researches and recommends new products, processes, systems, policies, and procedures to pursue in the future
  • Ensure robust programs are in place for the assessment of Customer Delivery, Freight, Warehousing, Premium charges and inventory management and logistics
  • Assists in the strategic development and upgrades of system software to meet World Class Manufacturing goals
  • Ensure application of established corporate financial controls by providing operating management direction and support to the implement policies, instructions, and control procedures
  • Demonstrates leadership by establishing credibility; acting with integrity; showing commitment; inspiring, motivating and guiding purchasing
  • Upholds the principles of the AMTB Business Protocols
  • Must understand and respect the laws and cultures in countries which AMTB conducts business & compliance's
    Identify security risk and developments of strategic plans to address
  • Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as identified in the HSE Management Standards, and ISO 14001 Management Systems.
  • Responsible for Budget preparation and planning

Requirements & Knowledge:

  • Microsoft suite - Word, Excel, Project
  • ERP – Epicor CMS, with AS400 MRP (CMS).
  • Global Market Place experience required
  • 10+ years of experience in a senior management position or 10+ years of leadership experience with a track record of progression
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a large matrix organization, work collaboratively with colleagues, and get results through others
  • Knowledgeable of business quoting and launch processes, industry best practices, standards and performance metrics
  • Must have demonstrated success in satisfying OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market
  • Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning, Materials, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain management, and Logistics
  • Experience with total quality manufacturing management and continual improvement
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Able to ensure that all systems in the organization are aligned toward achieving overall strategic goals
  • Continually communicate and reinforce the highest priority strategic initiatives to keep the organization focused on the right things
  • Hold others accountable for meeting the needs of the total business rather than optimizing the performance of only their area
  • Ensure that the organization has broad strategies and plans that focus on market needs and competitive advantage; set and articulate a compelling vision for the organization
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong team player
