Our client is looking to bring on a contract Data Engineer for a 12 month contract starting in January 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Data Engineer to work on cutting edge Predictive and AI projects for a multi-national company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining robust data pipelines, assembling large, complex data sets, and ensuring the availability of data to meet company requirements and business needs.

What You'll be doing:

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity
  • Build and support the data needs for predictive modeling and GenAI applications
  • Work with APIs to extract, transform, and load data from various sources, including both structured and unstructured data.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Implement data quality checks and ensure data integrity.
  • Document processes and maintain clear and concise technical documentation.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • Proficiency in data engineering languages and technologies, such as SQL, Python, and ETL frameworks.
  • Experience in working with APIs to pull data from various sources.
  • Familiarity with both structured (e.g., databases) and unstructured data (e.g., JSON, XML).
  • Familiarity with machine learning methods.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and storage solutions for both structured and unstructured data.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Big Query or Azure Data Lake is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to Computer Science or Statistics graduates.
