Job Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Estimator to join our team. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong analytical mindset, capable of producing accurate cost estimates for various projects, including concrete, earthworks, erosion control, and property maintenance. Key Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to create precise cost estimates for concrete, earthworks, snow removal, and property maintenance.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary estimate data.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to define project scope and objectives.
- Prepare comprehensive takeoffs, material lists, labor estimates, and equipment needs.
- Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to support the estimating process.
- Monitor industry trends and market pricing to ensure estimates are competitive and up-to-date.
- Assist in preparing proposals and bids for new projects.
- Review and adjust estimates to align with project budgets and timelines.
- Manage multiple estimates and projects simultaneously.
- Complete RFQs thoroughly and submit them for senior management review.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, especially in erosion control, concrete, and earthworks. Established client relationships are an asset.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
