Come grow with us! Forsite is actively looking for students interested in a Fuel Management Technician position. This is a student term position available from May – August 2025 and will be based in Kamloops, BC.

Forsite Fire is a business unit within Forsite's Resource Management and Technology division. We work in all facets of wildland fire, including fuel management, ecosystem restoration and prescribed burn planning, landscape-scale and community wildfire resiliency plans, and fire behavior and growth modelling

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As a member of the Forsite Fire team, the Fuel Management Technician will support a team of Senior Wildland Fire Specialists, Planners, and Analysts on a variety of projects.

The Fuel Management Technician will provide support to project teams in all aspects of fuel management projects including, fuel treatment unit layout, tree inventory and fuel transect plot data collection, riparian and ecological assessments, wildfire threat assessments, and GPS traversing. This position is expected to be primarily outdoors with potential for some out of town and camp work.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • A safety conscious attitude
  • A passion for working outdoors
  • A willingness to learn and build experience
  • Currently enrolled, or a recent graduate of a post-secondary program with a natural resource management focus
  • Broad understanding of natural resource management concepts and practices
  • Basic understanding of legislation and policy impacting land management in British Columbia
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office™ tools
  • A valid driver's license with a clean abstract
  • Knowledgeable in ESRI ArcGIS tools is an asset
  • Operational wildfire experience is an asset
