Your RoleWe are seeking an experienced and driven Ruminant Technical & Business Manager to lead and support our team in achieving annual sales goals for our Ruminant product portfolio. Focusing on growth in the Progressive Dairy sector, this role involves developing and managing a team of Sales Representatives and Nutritionists, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive business performance and maximize revenue growth.ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategic Alignment
  • Act as a critical member of the leadership team, collaborating with senior management to drive the company's growth strategy and vision.
  • Engage in cross-functional initiatives to align sales goals with broader organizational objectives.
  • Champion a cohesive sales approach across departments, promoting teamwork to optimize market reach and customer engagement.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, encouraging team contributions within the poultry business unit and beyond.
Revenue Generation & Profitability
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Analyze sales and product performance metrics, making adjustments to maximize revenue and efficiency.
  • Forge partnerships and expand market share through targeted strategies and exploration of new markets.
  • Set profitability targets by species, drive performance improvements, and collaborate on product innovation with nutritionists.
Sales Team Development
  • Lead the sales team with a focus on poultry-specific technical training and coaching.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Enablement Manager to enhance general sales skills and industry knowledge.
  • Implement succession planning for high-potential team members and ensure seamless transitions of key accounts.
  • Develop annual budgets and KPIs aligned with business goals and conduct engaging team meetings to communicate strategy and gather feedback.
Customer Relations
  • Expand and maintain the customer base, building strong relationships with key clients.
  • Collaborate with Poultry Species Managers to ensure customer satisfaction and high retention rates.
  • Manage credit risk and oversee collections.
  • Work cross-functionally to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Organize educational sessions and production meetings to empower livestock producers with the latest industry knowledge and insights.
Required Qualifications
  • MSc/PhD in Animal Science/Nutrition/Bioscience or equivalent experience
  • Highly driven and personally accountable, energized by teamwork and building relationships.
  • Strong customer focus, business acumen and negotiation skills and can problem-solve within internal and external complexity.
  • Passion for and knowledge of the dairy industry, including robot knowledge, pricing
  • mechanisms, and industry specific regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with a desire to continually learn.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using a CRM platform is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
