The Fraser Valley Child Development Centre is located in the beautiful Fraser Valley, close to nature and city, with many opportunities for outdoor and leisure activities. WHAT THE JOB LOOKS LIKE:

As an OT employed by the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre, you may work in our Early Intervention, School Aged Therapy, Assessment Clinic or Mental Health programs. Our offices are based in Abbotsford and Chilliwack, with possible travel to Mission and the Fraser Cascades region as well. Visits occur at our centre, in the child's home, school, childcare centre or out in the community. Some services may be provided virtually. The ages of the children range from newborn to 18 years old. You will be responsible for all aspects of caseload management by utilizing evidence informed procedures to assess, plan and carry out occupational therapy programs. Services are provided either directly with the child and family, or through training caregivers and community focusing on inclusion and helping reach each client's maximum potential. You may work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • A Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent education and experience
  • Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC
  • Previous experience in pediatrics preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply
  • Valid BC driver's license with reliable use of a car for work

EXPECTED START DATE: Immediately

TENURE: These positions are 12-month maternity leave coverage positions with a potential to extend the tenure to 18 months.

LOCATION & TRAVEL: These positions will be based in Abbotsford. However, with advance notice, the home office location may be changed from Abbotsford to other FVCDC office locations to fulfil contractual requirements. Additionally, this position may require travel, with travel time and mileage covered by the employer.
