The Job:The Commercial Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of commercial construction projects. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure that all projects meet client specifications, are completed within budgetary constraints, and adhere to timeline goals. The Commercial Project Manager will coordinate all aspects of the construction process, from initial planning and budgeting to quality inspections and final delivery.
The Duties and Responsibilities:*Collaborate with senior management to develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.*Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to align project goals and resolve any issues that arise.*Establish project timelines, ensuring all phases of construction are completed on schedule.*Ensure all necessary permits, inspections, and approvals are obtained throughout the project lifecycle.*Directly supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring work is carried out in accordance with building codes, safety regulations, and contract specifications.*Oversee the work of subcontractors, trades, and in-house staff, ensuring that each performs their tasks efficiently and to the required standards.*Conduct daily site inspections, ensuring all work is progressing according to plan and addressing any delays or issues as they arise.*Implement and enforce quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure that all construction activities meet contract specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.*Maintain a safe and secure work environment by adhering to and enforcing company safety policies, WorkSafe BC regulations, and all relevant occupational health and safety guidelines.*Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging open communication and continuous improvement.*Maintain accurate records of all project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, inspection reports, and change orders.
The Requirements: *A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction project management.*A Journeyman Carpenter certification or equivalent experience (Red Seal preferred).*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.*Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction project management software.*A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
