Position Summary

The Clinical Counselor is responsible for all aspects of caseload management using clinically accepted procedures to assess, develop, and implement counseling services, either directly or by training relevant individuals. The role focuses on supporting families to help each client reach their maximum potential. Key responsibilities include screening, assessing, and evaluating client and family needs using a family-centered approach, conducting client interviews to gather case history and identify core concerns, and developing, documenting, implementing, and monitoring therapeutic plans. Additionally, the Clinical Counselor provides follow-up support post-therapy, collaborates with other professionals to determine optimal services, maintains accurate documentation, develops educational and support groups, contributes to program quality improvements, offers consultation, and stays updated with professional knowledge through continuous education and networking.

Position Type: Permanent, Part-Time (0.4 FTE)

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology or related field.
  • Current registration with BCAC
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience working with children and youth with developmental delays or who have experienced trauma.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for work.

Location & Travel:This position will be based in Abbotsford and may require travel to other FVCDC locations in the Fraser Valley, with travel time and mileage covered by the employer.
