Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are undertaking the design, build, and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
- Stations:
- One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Facilities Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our facilities across the Ontario Line South project. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all OTG facilities, including offices, construction sites, and temporary buildings, are operating efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations. This role requires a strong background in managing contracts and agreements. The Facilities Manager will play a critical role in coordinating facilities-related aspects of a large-scale infrastructure project.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all OTG facilities, including offices, construction sites, and temporary buildings. Ensure that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
- Work closely with construction teams to ensure that facilities are properly integrated into the overall project plan.
- Coordinate the setup, maintenance of on-site facilities in line with construction schedules.
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all facilities, ensuring that equipment, systems, and infrastructure are regularly inspected and maintained in all project offices and sites. Coordinate and oversee repairs and upgrades as necessary.
- Ensure that all facilities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, and address any issues promptly.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors responsible for providing maintenance, repair, and facility-related services. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and ensure timely delivery of services.
- Prepare and manage the facilities budget, ensuring that all expenditures are aligned with project goals and financial constraints. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Lead and manage a team to provide guidance, training, and support to ensure that all team members are working effectively and efficiently.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for facilities-related incidents. Ensure that all staff are trained in emergency procedures and that all facilities are equipped with necessary safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of facilities operations, maintenance activities, and safety inspections. Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of facilities and any issues or concerns.
- A combination of a bachelor's degree or diploma in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field. Experience managing facilities for large-scale infrastructure or construction projects is essential.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, site management, and the integration of facilities within construction environments.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in facilities management software and tools. Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and preventative maintenance practices.
- In-depth knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Experience conducting safety inspections and audits within a construction environment.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team of facilities staff. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with construction teams, vendors, and senior management.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address facilities-related issues quickly and efficiently.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects, preferably in tunneling projects.
