Operations Manager
Primary Location: MV Isabelle (Onboard the vessel at Squamish, British Columbia)
Employee Status: Rotational
Salary Range (monthly): $10,000 to $15,000

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the President, the Operations Manager is a highly motivated self-starter responsible to oversee the contractual obligations for the Floatel and direct liaison with clients within the established operational, health and safety, and other policies and procedures of the company. Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the vessel accommodation and support vessels
- Providing coaching, leadership and guidance to all department heads and managers
- Act as the primary liaison with all key project stakeholders (client, ship owners, shoreside operations team, etc.)
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and clients
- Work closely with various departments in addressing inquiries and resolving issues to ensure a seamless customer expereince
- Forecast requirements; assist in preparation of budgets, schedule expenditures
- Complete budget analysis monthly and report on variances, taking corrective actions where necessary
- Work closely with corporate head office
- Ensure process is followed for contract management
- Guide department heads to ensure labour is managed efficiently, and appropriately reflects client planned manning curves
- Routine reporting per corporate and client requirements
- Work closely with vessel owners crew (deck and engine)
- Provide regular input and actively participate in all continuous improvement plans
- Maintain safe healthy work environment by ensuring operational HSE compliance, including compliance to HSE regulations and implementation of enhancement initiatives with the support of the HSE department
- Ensure all commercial activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies
- Participate in the recruitment of new team members, selection, and onboarding
- Communicate job expectations and provide coaching and training
- Working with department heads, ensure that scheduled performance reviews are conducted for all crew members
- Prioritize safety of crew members in all aspects of the operation
- Lead with strong safety leadership through desirable behaviors, attitudes, and mindset to further develop our culture of safety
Qualifications
- Previous industrial project experience
- Valid Marine First Aid and CPR
- Valid STCW certification
- Bachelor's degree in business with 5-7 years previous or relative experience
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring and potential random tests throughout employment without prior notice
- Excellent comprehension and command of the English language (written and verbal)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Previous experience in providing a seamless customer experience
- Knowledge of the technical functions and operational components of large format vessels
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, often stressful environment
- Experience in a hospitality operation (guest services, room management and food & beverage) considered an asset
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Safety oriented and willing and able to work in a multi-cultural environment
Vessel Safety Compliance
As a member of the crew, you are required to participate in all safety and security related training, exercises and other duties as assigned by the Master and vessel Management. Your primary role onboard the vessel is the safety and security of your work space, equipment, all persons onboard and the vessel in general.
