VEE Inc. is looking for experienced Lab Supervisor for our client located in Mississauga ON.
This position requires 3-5 years direct work experience in extensive testing validation engineering in Canada in the field of automotive or general manufacturing with a strong ability to lead, motivate organize and supervise. Candidates MUST have both electrical and mechanical skill, and proficiency in software like SolidWorks, CAD Inventor, NX 3D is essential. This role is not suited for IT/Software engineer only. Additional responsibilities and qualifications are shown below.
Provide prototype inspection, assembly, and testing assistance to Product Development Department. Carry out required testing as per test request. Responsible for the execution of all the lab functions including: preventative maintenance, calibration, and cleanliness of all lab equipment. Create test cases and execute validation activities within the assigned projects.
RESULTS:
· Define system/subsystem validation requirements for new projects and application.
· Develop system validation plan for new project.
· Collaborate with system and subsystem engineers and test engineers
· Effective debugging and problem solving of test set-ups

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Over see all lab operating functions in an attempt to ensure all internal and external customer requirements are satisfied, such as:
o Inspection of prototype components: CMM and manual gauging
o Pump assembly
o Set-up equipment for specific test: fixtures, shafts, instrumentation
o Run tests: hydraulic, acoustic, durability, cold start, audits
o Record information during test
o Pump tear down analysis
o Operation of data acquisition equipment
o Periodic CAD design of test fixtures
o Provide test feedback to engineering personnel
· Fast response for equipment and device troubleshooting, repair and upgrade
· Lead to upgrade of current equipment and the transfer of new system.
· Create SOR for new equipment to support new product validation, coordinating with equipment supplier.
· Preparation, implementation and analysis of various functional test (e.g. hydraulic performance, cold start behavior, NVH, …)
· Preparation, implementation and analysis of various endurance test based on customer drive cycles
· Preparation, implementation and analysis of various material investigations (Chemical resistance, porosity checks, material aging, …)
· Organization and follow up of externally conducted tests
· Comprehensible documentation and presentation of validation results within suitable DVP&Rs
· Development and implementation of technical solutions for possible issues during the prototype phases
· Work in compliance with Stackpole FPS Quality, Safety & Environmental Systems
· Ensure the test lab always operates within a safe manner and with the internal Stackpole business systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor degree or above in mechatronics, electronics or mechanical
· Automotive industry experience
· Hands-on attitude is a must
· Strong ability to lead, motivate, organize and supervise
· Understanding of pump operation and theory
· Experience in test environment is desirable
· Basic understanding of hydraulics, mechatronics and / or NVH desirable
· Understanding of instrumentation theory
· Computer knowledge of MS Office, Outlook
· Labview skill is preferred
· Team player with a “can do” attitude
