Therapist – Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program

We are currently seeking a therapist for the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) – Central North, to provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) counselling sessions through provincial protocols, via in-person or virtual means.

Hours of Work: 35 hours

Job Status: Contract January 2025 until January 2026

Base office: Negotiable (we have offices in Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Parry Sound and Sundridge) Please note that some virtual service, provided from a home office, is also part of this role.

Purpose of the Position: The purpose of this position is to provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) services to adults (18+) experiencing the following conditions:

  • depression and low mood
  • generalized anxiety and worry
  • health anxiety
  • obsessive-compulsive concerns
  • other anxiety and stress-related problems
  • posttraumatic stress
  • social anxiety and performance fears
  • specific fears
  • unexpected panic attacks and agoraphobic fears

Education and Qualifications:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training is required.
  • Preference will be given for those with a Master's degree and previous provincial training associated with OSP delivery.
  • Must be eligible to provide psychotherapy and in good standing with their respective college.
  • Preference will be given to those with a minimum 3 years of experience delivering CBT
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of psychotherapeutic and assessment techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of diagnostic categories and criteria as listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and flexibility.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as cooperatively within a team environment in a rural setting.
  • Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, the Internet, and data management software.
  • A willingness to serve clients within the communities of the District of Muskoka and Parry Sound.
  • A valid Ontario G or G2 driver's license and a safe and reliable means of transportation.
  • Bilingual in French/English language considered an asset.
  • Work schedule may include days/evenings/weekends and statutory holidays.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments (PHQ-9, GAD-7, for example) to inform individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual evidence-based CBT treatment through structured protocols.
  • Facilitate group CBT utilizing evidence-based approaches.
  • Participate in clinical consultation, meetings and training arranged through Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with team members in provision of care and overall delivery of the OSP program.
  • Contribute to program development and program evaluation.

Salary Scale: $35.90 to $44.26 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience.
