This volunteer opportunity will be for the Casino event taking place on November 28 and 29, 2024 at Pure Casino located at 1420 Meridian Rd NE, Calgary, AB. You can choose to work both days or either day and the shifts are as follows:

  • Cash Cage daytime shift (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
  • Cash Cage evening shift (6:45 PM - 3:45 AM)
  • Count room shift (11:00 PM - 3:45 AM)

The detailed position descriptions are as follows:

Banker:

The role of the banker is to supervise the cash cage. This includes documenting all cash cage transactions, ensuring the security of the chips and cash in the cash cage, and holding the cashiers accountable for the chips and cash they manage while on duty. The banker reports to the general manager and is responsible for cashiers and chip runners.

Cashier:

This position exchanges chips for cash. Individuals who feel comfortable counting out cash usually enjoy this position, which is usually the busiest. There are two cashiers on each shift.

Chip runner: Two volunteers needed per shift.

Opens and closes table games with the assistance of a pit boss and delivers chip fills/credits to table games with a security guard.

Count Room Positions

All count room position shifts: 11:00PM-3:45AM

  • Count room Supervisor: The count room supervisor is responsible for all count room staff and procedures.
  • The count room supervisor reports to the general manager, and works with the
  • general manager and banker. This position is responsible for the sorter, counters, and amalgamator.
  • Opener: Opens cash boxes and ensures boxes are fully emptied.
  • Sorter: Sorts money from cash boxes.
  • Counter: Runs money through the money counter and informs the recorder of amounts.
  • Recorder:Records totals of money counted on the computer.
  • Amalgamator: Runs money through the counter, informs the Count room Supervisor of totals and bundles the money.
