Over the past 60+ years, A. J. Clarke & Associates has attracted private land development clients and builders through providing Civil (Municipal) Engineering, Professional Planning, and Survey services. A. J. Based in Hamilton, the Water Resources Engineer will report to the Manager of Engineering and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on stormwater management. You will be part of a team that offers services and expertise to private and government sector clients throughout the Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara regions and beyond.
What You'll Do:
As part of the Engineering team at A. J. Clarke & Associates, you will:
  • Complete, check, and review technical deliverables including reports, technical notes, drawings, and engineering calculations
  • Prepare plans, proposals, specifications, supporting documents, reports, and permit applications
  • Work in a team to develop site plan preparation documents including site services, grading, drainage, and stormwater management
  • Ensure effective management of all areas of water management projects such as stormwater management, sewer design, drainage and hydrology, wastewater conveyance, potable water distribution, earthworks, transportation, and cost estimation
  • Supervise junior engineering and design staff in project execution, while providing mentorship and direction to your team
  • Prepare preliminary and final linear infrastructure, road, and street designs
  • Draft plans of site servicing, grading, drainage, and subdivision agreements
  • Design onsite sewage disposal systems and private water supplies
  • Liaise with clients, build client relations, and advance business development

What You Should Bring:
  • P.Eng. licence (required)
  • 8+ years of relevant water resources engineering experience
  • Significant experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Proficiency in stormwater management products such as MIDUSS, PCSWMM, and HEC-RAS
  • Solid understanding of procedures, drafting principles, design, and engineering skills
  • Extensive knowledge of municipal design standards for site plan and subdivision developments
  • Facility with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A valid Class G driver's licence

The ideal candidate will have a postsecondary degree in Water Resources or Civil Engineering or a related program. Additionally, you should have:

  • Ability to work as a team in a multi-discipline environment
