Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Communications, the Digital Marketing Specialist is CPABC's digital marketing expert and is primarily responsible for planning and executing marketing strategies to promote recruitment activities, CPABC's marquee events, and our professional development program. The incumbent will develop, execute, and optimize omnichannel campaigns, with a focus on email marketing campaigns for the organization. The role's primary goal is to drive member and candidate engagement through effective digital marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Development and Implementation of Strategic Marketing Plans
- Plan and execute digital marketing strategies in close collaboration with other team members to promote recruitment activities, CPABC's marquee events, and our professional development program to improve registration.
- Update and maintain website content where necessary, ensuring SEO best practices are optimized for lead generation.
- Oversee various long-term marketing and communications campaigns by creating, maintaining, and communicating project timelines, schedules, objectives, key messages and cost estimates.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing insights and actionable recommendations to improve engagement, conversions, and overall effectiveness.
Oversee CPABC's Email Marketing Strategy
- Write, edit and manage CPABC's email communications with adherence to CASL and best practices to effectively engage a variety of audience groups;
- Develop email marketing campaigns, including automation campaigns, to improve email marketing efforts. Work with the email team to design, execute, and analyze email marketing campaigns, including segmentation, A/B testing, and performance reporting.
- Responsible for CPABC's bi-weekly e-newsletter to members and students, including setting the schedule, corresponding with internal stakeholders, curating content, and preparing the newsletter.
- Review email analytics to make informed recommendations for future email marketing campaigns.
Support CPABC's Marketing and Communications Efforts
- Develop, write, edit, and curate content to support communications channels and campaigns.
- Proactively build, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, business partners, external agencies, and CPA members.
- Update graphics, presentations, and reports as required.
- Attend events, video, and photography appointments as required.
- Provide other marketing and communication support as required; and
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Key Requirements:
Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or equivalent;
- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant / related experience;
Demonstrated Skills and Abilities:
- Strong experience using Microsoft Office, specifically Word and PowerPoint;
- Proven project management experience, particular in managing digital marketing campaigns;
- Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g. Informz/Mailchimp);
- Understanding of CASL and other email regulations;
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently;
- Solid research, problem solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and analyze industry trends;
- Proven written and verbal communications skills;
- Process oriented with excellent attention to detail;
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines;
Preferred Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, in particular Photoshop and Auditions;
- Experience with basic HTML coding and web publishing (e.g. WordPress);
- Experience with SEO optimization;

The starting annual salary for this position is $65,200 – 77,450 per annum, based on candidates' qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
