PROPERTY MANAGER (FULL-TIME)

JOB TYPE: PERMANENT

DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 18, 2024

We are currently seeking a dedicated Property Manager to join our team and lead our housing initiatives. As the Property Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, and management of housing programs within the community. This role includes managing inspections, maintenance, and housing projects while fostering a supportive community environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement housing policies and programs.
  • Facilitate community meetings to address housing concerns and gather feedback.
  • Manage housing applications, waitlists, and tenant selection processes in collaboration with the housing committee in a fair and transparent manner.
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance, repairs, and renovations for housing units to ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to address maintenance issues proactively and ensure code compliance.
  • Resolve tenant conflicts and enforce tenancy agreements following established policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage the housing program budget, including revenue from tenant rents and funding from government or external sources.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and vendors for housing repairs and construction projects including preparing tenders and contracts as required.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, including rent collection and arrears management including encoding invoices.
  • Prepare regular reports for the Chief and Council or designate on housing program performance, budgeting, and maintenance needs.
  • Develop and implement work plans.
  • Prepare proposals and pursue funding opportunities to expand housing programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post -secondary education in Housing or Property Management (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in construction or building related field , with two years in supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of housing policies and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and housing management software.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed
